Our primary goal is to provide exceptional dental care in a comfortable environment. For this reason, we offer IV conscious sedation for more invasive dental surgeries, such as gum grafts and extractions, and particularly for patients who may be feeling anxious.
SEDATION FOR HIGH-ANXIETY PATIENTS
While we predominantly offer IV conscious sedation for dental surgery, we understand that dental anxiety can be a real deterrent to accessing the care you need. For those who experience high levels of dental anxiety, we are happy to discuss dental sedation with you for regular check-ins and less invasive procedures as well.
HOW TO PREPARE
We provide detailed instructions to our patients before their appointment about how to prepare for receiving IV conscious sedation. The primary things to remember are: do not eat before your appointment, and secondly, have someone who can pick you up, drop you off, and take care of you for the rest of your day.
PRECLUSIONS FROM SEDATION DENTISTRY
As with any medical procedure, there are some risks with sedation dentistry, and it is not recommended for everyone. People who are pregnant or breastfeeding, those experiencing substance abuse, people with a pacemaker or heart condition, and those who exceed the weight restrictions are unable to receive sedation dentistry due to increased health risks.
